These leggings are awesome, but unfortunately I can't afford to spend $292 bucks on them... So I'm going to make my own.

Stuff you will need:

A sewing machine (preferably)
Black thread
1 pair of black faux leather leggings
1 pair of black cotton leggings

Because I love American Apparel (but really, who doesn't?), I decided to buy both pairs of leggings from there. For the front faux-leather part of the legging, I chose the Shiny Legging in Lamé Matte Black, and for the cotton back part of the legging, I chose the Cotton Spandex Jersey Legging in Black. Any kind of thread will do, whether its polyester or cotton; I usually buy polyester.

Flip both pairs of leggings inside-out.
If the leggings aren't completely flat, iron them.
On both pairs of leggings, cut along the creases you have just made by the iron, which would run down the sides of your legs. You will notice that the inside of the legs is sewn, so you will need to cut the thread on the inside of the legging instead of cutting the fabric itself.
Chose one side of the faux leather legging, and one side of the cotton legging, and pin them together, keeping them inside-out.
Go to your sewing machine, and sew the pieces together. You should keep 1 cm between the thread and the edges of the fabric.
Flip the newly sewn leggings inside-out.
Enjoy!

Also, because there are two pieces of legging left, you can make another pair for a friend!

Unfortunately, I haven't done this project yet myself, so I can't show any pictures of my final project. I intend on doing this project though, so if anything is unclear and you need some help or advice, comment on this post and I'll comment back :)

So, this halloween I'm going to dress up as Sailor Mars from the anime tv show/comic book series Sailor Moon.

Here's a photo for reference:

It was IMPOSSIBLE to find a Sailor Mars costume anywhere except for on a Chinese online store that wants me to pay $30 for shipping, which didn't go over very well with mummy dearest... So I'm making my own with my sewing machine. This is the first thing I've made with my sewing machine, so its not completely gorgeous but hopefully it'll look alright in the end.

I went to a fabric store to buy stuff last weekend and I've been working on my costume since then. I'm SO slow. It's really terrible, but anyway, I just wanted to show you all how the costume making is going. Here's some photobooth pictures of my progress.

(Everything was sewn by me except for the white gloves which i bought and then added the red part on the top myself)

When it's all done, I'll post a picture of the final product :)

I did some shopping todaaaayyyayayay. Nothing serious, just Buffalo Exchange, which is one of the best thrift/consignment shops in NYC, in my opinion. The main one is in Williamsburg, but as of... last year(?) there's one on east 11th street! Yay Manhattan!

They have stuff for everyone, boys and girls, plus sizes, and even a pretty wide range of shoe sizes. And you don't have to worry about unfriendly hipsters working and lurking around the store. I approve.
